Cheers for the class of 2016

Infant teacher, Miss Martha and a young graduate

Last month, 200 parents and children ages 0-3 years old walked across the stage to receive their diplomas during the Graduation Ceremony. The Class of 2016 celebrated their achievements and milestones during two ceremonies at the Allan Early Childhood and STEM Center. These proud families are now official graduates of our Parent-Child Education Program.

This special ceremony marked the great successes these families have achieved throughout their nine-month commitment of teaching, learning, and dedication. We asked Marichuy Perez, who also gave a speech at the graduation, to share her thoughts on what AVANCE means to her:

“AVANCE taught us to socialize with other moms who have the same needs. It gave us the tools we need to be able to educate our children better in a manner that is positive , loving, patient and tolerant, which cultivates important values for our future generations. We now have the tools needed to guide, support and raise young people who are willing to fight for their dreams and be part of a generation that contributes to the society of this country.”- Marichuy Perez, AVANCE 2016 Graduate.

We are so proud of our dedicated program staff, educators, and everyone who helped make this year the best yet! We truly appreciate all the guidance and support from our amazing AVANCE team. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make our event a huge success!
